  • Pandora Agitart

The artistic residency led by Natalia Carminati is aimed at developing multidisciplinary projects in the form of installations that fuse painting and sculpture. Performance and happening are open languages that enable synergies to be created with other artists to transform the work into a platform for meeting and participation. The OOPArts project uses Fabra i Coats itself as a creative resource. The resulting work will be the culmination of a process of interaction between this context and those who experience it, and between those who experience the process and the spectators that enjoy the project.

The objectification of the landscape represents the search for a type of relationship with everyday space that has been freed from and purged of those predetermined structures that condition the way we inhabit it. It consists of the material and mental (re)construction of the environment from scratch, i.e. from an original, primary state. Mònica Planes manufactures objects-playthings that represent a return to a way of perceiving the environment that is free from learned structures.

In a world in which an infinite number of images travel constantly through the web, the Pixel is the smallest unit of expression, the essence of the system. Croma is a distributed and interactive dance show that tells the story of three Pixels governed by the same matrix. The relocation of the choreography and the possibility of creating a distributed show with no time or space limits, enables the platform used to offer a plethora of opportunities for both choreographic and technological research. It also enables research into a narrative that integrates a range of different audiences, all at the same time.

  • DUAE

Fabra i Coats – Art Factory is a leading centre in the development of the “selfscape” technique: artistic research in the northern part of Barcelona, beginning in the Sant Andreu neighbourhood. This method will be used to create an atlas of the territories explored, creating a place in which to generate new projects and integrate collaborations with artists in residence. Over the course of the project, the group will focus on various themes: How do we use maps? What is our perception of places? What routes do we follow, and where do they lead us? Through memory and the use of the new technologies, the DUAE group aims to discover the territory and the transformations it has undergone. Subsequently, photographs, texts and personal cartographic creations will be used to recreate an area / map that is sensitive and accessible to all and that will restore identity to places, generating a new awareness of the everyday landscape.

Presonera-es[Prisoners]is a multidisciplinary show based on a play written by Jordi-Pere Cerdà in 1952. The piece tells the story of a girl as naïve and vulnerable as anyone is when they experience their first feelings. Who is this woman? What is the contemporary equivalent of the oppression she suffers? How can we enable this female figure to travel full circle between the past and the present, to fight, to argue, to receive beatings and yet still forge her own way? Exploring the singular circumstances of women, in this show text, dance, music, space and lighting are fused to create a whirlwind of musical and visual energy.

  • SomosNosotros

SomosNosotros consists of the visual artists Begonya Garcia and Alfonso Fernández. They conduct their artistic practice with a combination of performance, video, textuality and action. From a contextual starting point they develop discourses based on hegemonic thinking. Taking a critical stance, they set out to demonstrate very explicitly the behaviour generated in contemporary society, calling on the spectator to act ridiculously, absurdly or incoherently. The use of ingenuous methodologies serves as a basis for their discourse in creating a horizontal relationship with a spectator who is not too familiar with art, as they want him to be symbolically and/or physically involved in their work.
