#SEMINAR

Seminar Grants with Crowd

March 29, 2017

At a time when both public and private institutions are reviewing their systems for financing culture and education, the Goteo Foundation continues to innovate with digital tools and services aimed at promoting and increasing the impact of sponsorship in Spain.

At the seminar Grants with Crowd, the Goteo Foundation will show participants how the digital technologies revolutionise relations between financial donors and projects seeking finance, generating more transparent, open and participatory models of financing.

The matchfunding financing formula and the crowdfunding platform that the Goteo Foundation has developed adds to the basic features of this digital tool an innovative system of calls for proposals for projects with rules adapted to the donor organisation. This generates two ways of financing culture, education and citizen initiatives in one single tool, making the system of awarding grants an open, participatory and social process while always complying with the rules and conditions of the donor organisation. This seminar is organised with a three-fold goal:

1. To present the digital tool developed by the Goteo Foundation.

2. To share successful experiences of matchfunding calls for proposals implemented in recent years with different institutions, both public and private.

3. To discuss the specific characteristics of participating organisations in order to adapt the matchfunding model and the digital tool to the needs of the donor organisation.

Those attending the workshop will include, among others, organisations that launch matchfunding calls for proposals for grants via the Goteo.org platform, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and organisations that promote projects financed by  matchfunding calls for proposals. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 29, with a joint work sessionand a co-designdynamic, in the Barcelona Contemporary Art Centre (CAC) room at Fabra i Coats – Art Factory.
