March 25, 2017
The environment, creativity and art will be the main themes at the Third Surfcity International Festival of Contemporary Surf Culture, which will take place at the art factory this coming March 25.
In a day packed with activities, the highlights will include eight hours of live music featuring performances by Il Est Vilaine, Der Panther, The Parrots, Baywaves, The Wheels, JMII and Playback Maracas and a contemporary surf art exhibition entitled "We are Antonyms", in which more than 40 international artists explore the theme of "surf versus city".
Festival-goers interested in learning more about techniques for making the best surfboards should head for the Shaper Room, where shapers from around the world will reveal the secrets of their trade.
A new feature at the festival this year will be an external area with free access. This space will be occupied by DJs, food trucks and a number of art installations.
